Help

We're working to bring well-organized information about community theater productions to a wide audience by optimizing our site for search engines like Google and others. Our database is set up to provide easy cross references between your members and their work in the community.

These are the kind of listings we're taking about

Titanic: The Musical, Spotlight Productions' award-winning presentation, and Park Players, who do a lot of Shakespeare in the Park

Go ahead and explore the sample links. Use the Publicize Free link on the upper left of those pages to return here.

You can use the site's cross referencing to see the experience of your auditioners. They can use it to keep up-to-date with their friends and colleagues.

Recognize your performers and technical people by submitting your productions to us, which we'll list on this site (did we mention?) for free. We bear the cost with no funny business because we want to grow a database of community theater productions.

We have the know-how and plans in place to keep stageref.com a player in the web publishing era. Your productions will be available for your more high-tech members and patrons through syndication feeds or links, on their cell-phones, their blogs and their hot new social networking sites, while still being easily linked to by you for your casual visitors.

Why? you ask

Many community theater groups are the proud and capable custodians of a great heritage — the longest-continuously-operating or the oldest west of the Rockies. Season after season in a local community, they bring theater to loyal audiences sometimes for generations. The people who run them today, from artistic boards to set painters, the caretakers of this heritage are primarily volunteers. Daytime jobs and responsibilities make way for weekend drama and music. These productions provide a cultural and artistic experience to local audiences young and old, mostly in communities quite removed from New York City. They do it for the love of this ancient art.

We love community theater. We love computers. We want to bring the heritage of community theater into the digital age.

We can work with you.
